This mosque is one of the biggest in Iran with a religious school. Its construction was first started in Qajar era in 1880. Architecture wise, it introduced a new style to Iranian mosque designing. The decoration and the tile work has made it one of the most beautiful mosques in Iran. Most of its design was inspired by the grand mosque of Isfahan, Chahar Bagh religious school also in Isfahan and Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.
