This is a 12th century building, the name means “40 girls”, since girls would offer walnuts to passersby so that someone would marry them. People of Isfahan also call this “the Garland minaret”, Garland was a Christian missionary who lived next to this minaret, he had dedicated his life into proselytizing Isfahan Jewry.
