Description

Khaju bridge might be the most famous bridge in Iran and has been selected among the 10 most beautiful bridges in the world. This bridge was built in the 17th century by Shah Abbas II. This bridge also works as a dam using hatches located on the columns. There is a building in the center which is closed to visitors and was previously used by Shah and his family. At night, some people sing in the lower level. One of the main issues with this bridge and other bridges in Isfahan is that sometimes the Zayande river dries up and lack of water reduces the beauty of these beidges.
