Description
One of the oldest and most important buildings in Isfahan, which is located next to the grand bazaar, it was originally a Zoroastrian fire temple which was converted to a mosque after the Islamic conquest. Years later the original mosque was demolished and a new one was built instead, and it was developed and renovated gradually over the centuries for almost 1000 years; thus you can see the evolution of Iranian architecture by walking through its different halls.
